(Tesfahun Weekly #1) - Experiencing God – yāda

Experiencing God – yāda

God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful(1 Cor 1:9).

God is the only source to the knowledge of Himself. This knowledge is fetched through a relationship with Him. Stronger relationship with God produces stronger knowledge of Him and a weaker relationship produces a weaker understanding of Him. The closer we become, the better we know God.

The Hebrew word "yāḏa" means knowledge which is gained through a relationship. This kind of knowledge is available among family members. Our "yāḏa" or knowledge of our family members is better than our knowledge of other friends. Our "yāḏa" of our family has been developed through relationship and sharing of life together.

We are called into fellowship of a divine family through Jesus Christ. This is an invitation to a better "yāḏa" of God. This is an invitation to a better relationship or intimacy with God. This is a invitation to a personal experience of God. A personal experience of God can be enjoyed through devotion to God's Word, Spirit's leadership and prayer. We can be certain of this because God is faithful. When fellowship with God is enjoyed, then our relationship with believers will also be enjoyed.

Prayer: God, we thank you for inviting us into fellowship with a divine family through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Help us to come to this fellowship and enjoy a personal experience of you in this year 2015.
